I am a songleader, vocal coach, childbirth educator, and singer/songwriter in Olympia, Washington. It is my mission to support vocal confidence and childbirth resilience.

Voice: My singing background is in classical voice studies, including competition singing and professional choirs. I am currently most inspired by the Full Voice method and sharing singing as a tool for soothing, connection, and inspiration. Everyone can benefit from singing, especially in times of stress or transition. I have received many voice sessions over the years, including from those teaching in a rigid manner. I was most inspired by warm, creative teachers and I aspire to share my collection of vocal insights in receptive collaboration with my clients. I look at each voice as a unique mystery and I enjoy finding ways to remove vocal barriers, releasing more calm, balance, expression, authenticity/authority, and joy. To keep loving each other and our amazing earth, we all need moments of peace, trust, creativity, self love, and empathy. Our voices offer these gifts.

Childbirth: I have experienced a healthy pregnancy and a full trimester of bedrest pregnancy, two unmedicated births with days of labor - including one water delivery. Well informed trust was at the heart of being able to move through these experiences; trust in my body, trust in my birth team, trust in my birth space. Researching options to find your comfort zone is primary because birth is instinctual and your body can release when it feels safe. Stalled labor is a common impediment to the flow of birthing, even in comfortable environments. Specific vocalizing tools helped me emotionally reconnect to the birthing process and often revived healthy contractions, leading to a beautiful spontaneous birth without any instructed pushing. I was asked by my midwife to become a childbirth educator and I’m grateful I have been able to share tools for thoughtfully prepared and deeply meaningful birth experiences.

In addition to being a St. John’s College philosophy graduate, a former Waldorf teacher, and my current wonderful work life, I am an empathic and Highly Sensitive Person living with anxiety. I am inspired by storytelling and the power of myth to slowly unveil layers of mystery and bone wisdom. While I often work with groups of women, I respect every voice and enjoy supporting men and gender-nonconforming folks along their journeys. My home includes my husband and three young boys, my summer gardens, winter fires, and a cup of tea ready for a friend.
